Polycom's Steve Pattison is our newest Executive Advisory Board member

Polycom's Steve Pattison
One of the things we strive for in the composition of our Executive Advisory Board is industry diversity. Even though we're the only virtual collaboration environment built on the Microsoft stack, we haven't looked for board members who live just in the Microsoft ecosystem.

Rather, our focus has been on unified communications and life sciences. We've sought out executives with a broad array of experiences and customer inputs, including IBM's Cindy Skirvin, Microsoft’s Sam Batterman and now, Polycom's Steve Pattison.

Steve is the newest member of our board, and will be helping to counsel and guide our management team on a range of business initiatives, including industry partnerships, business development, and corporate strategy.

So if you take a look at the composition of our board now, you'll see leaders in business analytics and innovation, life sciences technologies, networking, and UC. The result is one of the reasons why the unified communications and collaboration experience in ProtoSphere is so outstanding.

We announced Steve's joining in a press release today, which has more details on his background and how he'll be supporting us.

Welcome aboard, Steve!

IBM's Cindy Skirvin joins our Executive Advisory Board

Cindy Skirvin
ProtonMedia's Executive Advisory Board is continuing to grow at a healthy clip. I'm very proud to announce that Cindy Skirvin is our latest member. She's the Partner of Strategy and Transformation Workforce and Talent Solutions for IBM Global Business Services. She joins Cisco’s Greg Pelton and Microsoft’s Sam Batterman around our advisory board table.

Cindy's sweet spot is deploying and running human capital management and corporate training and learning programs in life sciences. She's spent about 15 years consulting to organizations including Merck, Pfizer, Amgen, Abbott, and Johnson & Johnson. Having her on our board is an ideal fit for us, as we continue to develop ProtoSphere to meet the human capital management needs of life sciences companies.

If you're looking for more details on Cindy's background and what she'll be bringing to the table, take a peek at the press release we issued to announce Cindy's joining. We're also working on interviewing our new board members in turn, so watch the blog for that.

Welcome to the team, Cindy!

Roundup of recent media mentions: Philly.com and Schreyer Institute

I wanted to share a couple mentions we've gotten lately in the media.

The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence added its thoughts to my "This is your brain on PowerPoint" post. There are some interesting food-for-thought bullets there that I'd encourage you to read over.

And Philly.com included Sam Batterman joining our Executive Advisory Board in its "On the Boards" roundup. Thanks for featuring us!

Welcome, Sam Batterman, to ProtonMedia's Executive Advisory Board

Sam Batterman
Greg Pelton won't be lonely for long on our Executive Advisory Board. Sam Batterman has just joined the Board as well. Yowzaa, talk about brain power!

Sam is a Visualization Specialist for Microsoft's Life Science Group. He's probably familiar to some of you. Regular blog readers know him from our LIFE SCIENCES 2010 event, where Sam was a panelist. He also recently penned a guest article on our blog.

Sam will be advising ProtonMedia on areas including company strategy, business development, and virtual technology innovation. He brings with him 19 years of experience in business intelligence and database technology, including eight years spent at Merck leading customer relationship management and sales force automation projects.

We're excited to have Sam with us, and issued a press release today with more details on Sam's background and what he'll be bringing to the table at ProtonMedia. You can catch it below.

Gartner names ProtonMedia a "Cool Vendor" and other recent buzz

I have to admit, when I see buzz about ProtonMedia in the news, I get a buzz -- especially when it's about something as exciting as Gartner naming us a "Cool Vendor in the High-Performance Workplace." Several media points have taken note of the news, including Hypergrid Business,

Technically Philly,

and our perennial buddy and one of our biggest boosters, Dr. Karl Kapp.

While I'm on the subject of media coverage, The Philadelphia Inquirer featured news of Greg Pelton joining our Executive Advisory Board -- also an exciting development for me and the company!

Thanks to all for featuring ProtonMedia. With media and bloggers continuing to follow and be energized by news coming out of our shop, we must be on to something. You can bet more is to come! :)

Welcome Greg Pelton, ProtonMedia's newest Executive Advisory Board member

Greg Pelton
The brain power on our advisory team here at ProtonMedia continues to grow. Pretty soon we're going to crack the genetic code.

The newest member to join us is Greg Pelton, Director of Engineering at Cisco. Greg will sit on our Executive Advisory Board, working with me and the rest of the management team on ProtoSphere’s 3-D collaboration capabilities and enterprise network scalability.

Greg has worked on the front-end research and development of several telecommunications technologies over his career, including IP telephony, IP routing over satellites, IPTV, wireless, mobile networking, home networking, and Cisco TelePresence. We're thrilled to have him with us -- so much so we had to put out a press release about it.

If you're interested in reading more about Greg and how he'll be contributing to the team, pull up our press release. Welcome, Greg!
