Microsoft Lync Server 2010 support coming to ProtoSphere

You might have heard today's news from Microsoft, in which it announced the release candidate of Microsoft Lync, its new unified communications platform. Lync is the new name for its products formerly known as Communications Server, Communications Online, and Communicator.

As a long-time Microsoft partner, we've been working closely with the company to integrate support capabilities for its technology into ProtoSphere. As you probably recall, ProtoSphere supports SharePoint, and it's also built on the Microsoft stack.

Today we announced a new addition to that list: Lync. We've been working on developing support for Lync throughout this year through our participation in Microsoft’s UC Developer Platform Technology Adoption Program (TAP). We'll be introducing support for Lync in an upcoming version of ProtoSphere.

Our press release announcing our news is below. Obviously, many more details are to come. But this is all I can say for now, else I get in hot water with the PR powers that be. ;-) When we're able to tell you more, you can be sure that you'll hear it all first on our blog. Patience, Daniel-san!!
