Greg has worked on the front-end research and development of several telecommunications technologies over his career, including IP telephony, IP routing over satellites, IPTV, wireless, mobile networking, home networking, and Cisco TelePresence. Greg Pelton Joins ProtonMedia’s Executive Advisory Board
Communications technology veteran brings over 25 years of experience in business development and product innovation to company’s Executive Advisory Board

Pelton, a veteran of the communications and networking technology industry, currently serves as Director of Engineering at Cisco, leading the company’s Internet Routing in Space (IRIS) initiative. Pelton has worked on the front-end research and development of several telecommunications technologies over his career, including IP telephony, IP routing over satellites, IPTV, wireless, mobile networking, home networking, and Cisco TelePresence.

Prior to joining Cisco, Pelton spent over 15 years with Nortel. He helped create the company’s first international digital telephony switch, develop its first SS7 network products, and build an R&D lab in Germany as part of a joint venture with Daimler-Benz. Pelton is recognized for his work in equity investments and acquisitions, and is a frequent speaker on innovation and emerging technologies. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, and currently holds 18 patents.
