Ric Andersen joins our board

Can you tell we're growing? ;) We have a new member of our Board of Directors, Ric Andersen, who is Managing Director of Silver Lake. He's the first independent member of our board, and I wanted to say welcome to our team, Ric!

Ric Andersen Named to ProtonMedia’s Board of Directors

Technology Veteran Brings 25 Years of Experience in Consulting, Operations, and Value Creation to Company’s Board

LANSDALE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ProtonMedia, the developer of the ProtoSphere social teaming and collaboration platform, today announced that Ric Andersen, Managing Director of Silver Lake, has joined the company’s Board of Directors. He becomes the first independent member of ProtonMedia’s board at a key point in the company’s growth. ProtonMedia recently secured $2.5 million Series ‘A’ financing, and is focusing on building its sales and marketing team, solidifying its leadership position in pharma and energy, and penetrating promising new markets. As Director, Andersen will work with other board members and senior management to increase operational efficiency, seek new financing opportunities, and provide strategic guidance on achieving business goals.

Andersen has spent 25 years consulting to and working as a senior operating executive within Fortune 500 global enterprises, including IBM, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and PwC Consulting. Currently, he is Managing Director of Silver Lake, a global private investment firm with approximately $13 billion in assets under management. He also serves as Co-Head of the firm’s Value Creation Team, helping to oversee private investments in technology, technology-enabled, and related growth industries. Andersen has been a director on several boards of technology and professional services companies, and currently serves on the board of Vertex, Inc.

Prior to joining Silver Lake, Andersen led various large business units within PwC Consulting and IBM, most recently running IBM’s Asia Pacific Global Business Services unit. While at PwC Consulting, He played a central role in planning for and executing the sale of the PwC Consulting business to IBM in 2003 as well as the post-deal integration activities. Andersen earned his bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and he holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
